Stephen Colbert didn’t hold back as “The Late Show” went live on Tuesday night following Donald Trump’s first official State of the Union speech.
Colbert, 53, who usually pre-tapes his nightly show a few hours before it goes on air, fired insults at the president from the get-go, with him telling the audience: “We are live right now and barely conscious following a 90-minute speech.”
He also added that even though the “bar for success was pretty low,” Trump did have a few surprises up his sleeve, including being able to hold a glass with one hand.
Colbert went on to address some of the country’s disasters in recent months, playing a clip of Trump saying, “We have endured floods and fires and storms.”

The host then joked, “And Stormys. Don’t forget her. She was one of the most expensive disasters for you, personally,” referencing the porn star who allegedly had an affair with the president back in 2006.
Other key moments of Trump’s speech included him telling the crowd, “We always will pull through together, always,” while talking about the nation being faced with such tragedies.

However, having another dig at the POTUS, Colbert pointed out: “A comforting message to the people of Puerto Rico, once they have electricity to turn on their TVs.” He added that a million people were still without power.
The hilarious segment also included Colbert poking fun at Trump’s love of burgers, as well as him talking about the level of African-American unemployment. Watch more in the clip above.
