Jamie Dornan has had a successful career with roles in “Once Upon a Time” and “The Fall”, but his “Fifty Shades” fans are probably the most intense.
The Irish actor, 35, visits “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday to talk about “Fifty Shades Freed”, the final instalment in his erotic romantic drama movies with Dakota Johnson.
When asked about intense fan interactions, Dornan admits some audience members can’t separate the actor from the character. “I get a lot of fans talking to me as if I am Christian Grey,” explains Dornan.
“I’ll be at a line in Starbucks or something and someone will be like, ‘Oh, Mr. Grey.’ And I’m literally holding one of my children,” he continues. “I just panic, I don’t know how to respond to it.”
DeGeneres teases Dornan, asking if there is any pressure to bring Christian Grey’s sexuality home to his wife Amelia Warner. Dornan reveals, however, that his wife has not seen any of the “Fifty Shades” films.
And what is an episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” without some fun and games? Dornan and DJ tWitch team up with audience members for a game of “Twister Hunky Hoopla”.
“Fifty Shades Freed” premieres February 9.
