Chris Rock and Adam Sandler are sweating it out in the first teaser for their new Netflix movie “The Week Of”.
The flick stars the funny pair as two very different fathers who must come together for the wedding of their children. Our first look at the comedy shows the two dads awkwardly arguing over the use of air conditioning while on a road trip.
“The Week Of” marks the film directorial debut of Robert Smigel, better known as the man behind the former “TV Funhouse” segments on “SNL” and the voice of Triumph The Insult Comic Dog on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien”. In addition to Rock and Sandler, the cast features “SNL” alum Rachel Dratch, “Mudbound” actor Rob Morgan and frequent Sandler comedy collaborator Steve Buscemi.
The preview for the movie doesn’t look like Netflix’s other Sandler comedies, instead opting for a more natural approach and observational comedy instead of the comedian’s usual schtick.
“The Week Of” marks the fourth and final film Sandler signed on to star in, write and produce for the streaming giant as part of a 2014 deal. Netflix extended the deal, ordering an additional four films from Sandler back in March of last year.
“The Week Of” drops on Netflix on Apr. 27.
