Jennifer Lawrence Hosting Politically Charged ‘Unrigged Live!’ Variety Show

Jennifer Lawrence’s sabbatical from acting is only restricted to the big screen.

The actress is tabbed to host the upcoming “Unrigged Live!” variety show with Tig Notaro and Nikki Glaser on Saturday night as part of a three-day political summit at Tulane University in New Orleans.

“As far as I know, it’s the first event of its kind to bring together progressives from both sides to kick off what is going to be a long, hard fight,” Broadway’s Triptyk Studios’ Brian Swibel told Variety.

Lawrence’s show will be the marquee piece of the three-day Unrig the System Summit. The event “aims to bring together bipartisan political reform groups with activists, celebs, academics and philanthropists to solve the problem of getting corrupt money out of politics,” according to the publication.

Prior to the show, Lawrence opened up the festivities on Friday with a moving speech about corruption: “We do not have to pick sides. It’s time to come together… American taxpayers do not deserve to pay into a system that is rigged against them. F**k that!”

“Unrigged Live!,” will livestream on the summit’s website on Feb. 3 at Tulane’s McAlister Auditorium.

J-Law, 27, is taking a break from the big screen, but has two 2018 films currently in post-production: “Red Sparrow” and “X-Men: Dark Phoenix”.
