Friday brought a brand new video from Halsey, with the 23-year-old singer debuting the amazing video for “Sorry”, taken from her latest album “hopeless fountain kingdom”.
The video sees Halsey emerging from a car wreck, her face covered in blood, and taking in what appears to be an apocalyptic scene of desolation all around her, replete with burning vehicles and bodies strewn all over the street.
As Halsey explained on Twitter, the video — which she co-directed with Sing J. Lee — was shot in one continuous take, and is “one of my fav things i’ve ever made.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Halsey explained the meaning of her album’s title, “hopeless fountain kingdom”.
“That was a phrase that I heard an old friend of mine use when we were in New York and living in this sort of fantasy, upside-down world where everyone I knew was doing drugs and didn’t have jobs and everyone was f**king each other,” she said. “It was this psychedelic dream space.”
