Snoop Dogg spoke the truth when he said he would record a gospel album.
The “Doggystyle” rapper released a music video on Friday shot entirely in a church and featuring gospel artist B Slade for “Words Are Few”, a seven-minute song.
“Words Are Few” is the closing number of the S-N-double O-P-D-O-double G’s upcoming 32-track gospel double album “Bible of Love”.
Last year, he told Beats 1 that recording a gospel album has “always been in my heart. I just never got around to it because I always be doing ‘gangsta’ business or doing this or doing that. I just felt like it’s been in my heart too long. I need to do it now.”
Dogg, 46, also headlined the 19th annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration outside Minneapolis. “The record’s all about love from start to finish,” he said at the event. “That’s the way you change the world, by putting love in it.”
“Bible of Love” features artists like Tye Tribbet, Faith Evans and Rance Allen, and will drop Mar. 16.
