Two women have accused Richard Dreyfuss of groping them after they went to see the actor in the 2004 Broadway production of “Sly Fox”.
The friends from Long Island have shared a series of photographs with the New York Daily News which show the “Jaws” actor seemingly grabbing one woman’s backside. The women also claim Dreyfuss, 70, pawed at them when they were invited to see him backstage after the show.
Another photo is said to show the star wrapping his arms around one woman’s waist so one hand was touching her breasts, while the other was extending down towards her crotch.
One of the women, who asked to be identified only by her first name Beth, told the publication: “The first thing he did was give me a hug, and he stuck his hand almost in the crack of my butt. He didn’t even give me any warning.”
The 48-year-old added, “Then he turned me around, and he grabbed me by the boob. And he grabbed right above my private area, lower than my midriff. Like he was tickling me. I was giggling, but not in a happy way. I was so nervous.”
The second woman, called Susan, said Dreyfuss kissed her on the cheek without her permission.
The 52-year-old said the whole thing was “creepy, weird and awkward.”
Beth added the pair had been approached by someone in the theatre who offered to escort them backstage, where Dreyfuss is said to have told her she had “nice lips” and asked the women to stay and hang out with him.
The latest allegations come after television writer Jessica Teich accused the actor of sexual harassment in November.
She claimed Dreyfuss exposed himself in front of her while they worked on an ABC comedy special back in 1987.
