Lovebirds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are heading north for their first Valentine’s Day as an engaged couple.
Kensington Palace confirmed the soon-to-be husband and wife will head to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, on the eve of Valentine’s Day.
Their visit will include stops at Edinburgh Castle, a youth cafe run by homeless support organization Social Bite, and a reception celebrating youth achievement at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Lucky for Harry, his fiancee is obsessed with the most romantic day of the year. “Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine’s Day,” Markle once wrote on her former lifestyle blog The Tig.
“Without fail, every Feb. 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss,” she continued. “This is all happening in black and white, of course. And in Paris, if I had my way.”
She added, “But delusions of Francophile grandeur aside, Valentine’s Day is special wherever you happen to find yourself. And in terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower, it really is the thought that counts.”
There is no word on whether the couple will stay in Scotland on the 14th of the month or return to Nottingham Cottage.
