John Cena and Nikki Bella may have been having some relationship issues recently, but Cena insists the pair are eager to work out their differences and get their engagement back on track.
The WWE duo, who document their lives on the E! TV series “Total Bellas”, alongside Nikki’s twin sister Brie and her other half Daniel Bryan, could be seen fighting and questioning whether or not their engagement was off in a season three preview that aired on Wednesday’s “Today”.
However, Cena, 40, was quick to put the record straight as he spoke to hosts Kathie Lee, 64, and Hoda Kotb, 53, on the “Today’s Talk” segment of the show.
As Kotb questioned whether the relationship issues were real, Cena insisted: “What a weird place we’re in where everybody thinks what they see on television is not real.”
He then added, “I think in relationships you have highs and lows and that was an extreme low. You have two choices, you either jump ship and start a new relationship or move forward and try to work through it. And we’re gonna move forward and try to work through it.”
Cena added that the pair, who started dating in 2012, are going to do all that they can to make sure the wedding still goes ahead.
The wrestler went on: “I believe we both have some work to do. We haven’t yet jumped ship.”
He then finished up by saying, “I am determined through thick and thin to make this work. Because I absolutely love this woman.”
