Politics complicate everything, especially Rachel Lindsay’s love life.
The former “Bachelor” contestant revealed how she got drunk and passed out in the fantasy suite after learning Donald Trump won the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.
“I was in Finland, jet-lagged. We missed our flight in New York. It was just a mess,” she told the “Bachelor Party” podcast. “So I land, I can’t go to sleep and I’m watching BBC. They’re all like ‘Hillary [Clinton] is going to win by this’ and you can just tell everything changes. And you’re like ‘Oh great. It’s going to be Trump?’ No one can believe it. It was so bad.”
Lindsay had a date with “Bachelor” Nick Viall the next day, but had too much Trump on the brain to worry about her love interest. “I had my date the next day, and I couldn’t get in the right head space,” she explained. “I drank a lot. I passed out in the Fantasy Suite. This is my first time actually saying that. I just went to sleep. We had no talking that night.”
“I did nothing! I did nothing but sleep,” she clarified. “I got my best sleep in the Fantasy Suite!” Trump was “the reason I got sent home,” teased Lindsay. “Because I passed out in the Fantasy Suite!”
Fortunately, Lindsay went on to be the next “Bachelorette” and is set to marry her fiance Bryan Abasolo this year.
