Starbucks Barista Sends Secret Message To ‘Stranger Things’ Star Shannon Purser

If there was any doubt that Barb is still a “Stranger Things” fan favourite despite being apparently still dead in the second season, star Shannon Purser received a whole lotta love when she popped into a Starbucks for some java.

When the 20-year-old actress picked up her coffee, instead of seeing her name written on the cup there was a message: “Barb deserved better.”

Purser couldn’t resist sharing the hilarious message on Twitter.

Unbeknownst to Purser, the barista fan who left her the message was also on Twitter.

The barista issued a response to Purser’s tweet, and received a sweet response:

The back and forth between star and fan did not go unnoticed in the Twitterverse, and the exchange led to a multitude of comments:

Purser’s character, Barb Holland, met her apparent demise in a Hawkins swimming pool at the clawed hands of the Demogorgon in season one; because viewers didn’t actually see Barb meet her maker, fans are hoping against hope that she may return in some fashion (even though she probably won’t).

Thankfully for fans, Purser is currently appearing in a recurring role on The CW’s “Riverdale” and will soon be seen in her first starring role, playing the title character in the upcoming Netflix movie “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser”, which will likely debut next year.

In the meantime, check out Purser making a surprise appearance on “Chelsea” that freaks out her “Stranger Things” co-stars:
