Amy Schumer is back with a brand new comedy and it has her looking beautiful, or at least she thinks she does.
The 36-year-old comedian debuted the first trailer for “I Feel Pretty” while appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Thursday.
Describing the concept of the movie, Schumer talked about seeing men on dates looking into a mirror with “superhero James Dean and Clint Eastwood” confidence.
Schumer then did an impression of her own mirror-face, which amounted to a shrug.
In the trailer of “I Feel Pretty”, Schumer plays a woman who is completely unhappy with how she looks, that is, until she gets knocked on the head in an exercise accident and suddenly views herself as totally gorgeous.
“Modelling is an option for me,” she tells a group of women in a job interview, “But it’s not who I am.”
Some women were disenchanted with the movie, criticizing Schumer for being a white, blonde woman with a “teeny-tiny belly” pretending to be fat and ugly.
“I Feel Pretty” also stars Michelle Williams, Emily Ratajkowski, Busy Philipps, Sasheer Zamata, Naomi Campbell and more. The film hits theatres June 29.
