Justin Timberlake surprised 13-year-old Ryan McKenna, now known as the “selfie kid”, with a phone call as the teenager appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Friday.
McKenna went viral after he managed to grab a snap with Timberlake, 37, mid-performance at Sunday’s Super Bowl, and he told DeGeneres, 60, all about the “crazy” moment.
Admitting his dad only told him he was going to the game two weeks before, the youngster explained: “I just started crying I couldn’t believe it, just to go to the Super Bowl is a dream come true.”
As talk then turned to Timberlake, the youngster insisted: “We had no idea that Justin was gonna be there [in our section]. I pushed through. I was elbowing people, but I got there. I was there with him.”
DeGeneres then explained that she had a surprise for the teen before Timberlake’s voice piped up on the other end of a phone.
“Omg I can’t believe this!” a teary-eyed McKenna squealed.
The musician then gave the viral sensation and his family VIP tickets to his “Man of the Woods” tour in Boston, and told him, “I look forward to meeting you and our second selfie together!”
Since McKenna and his family are New England Patriots fans as well, DeGeneres also gave them all VIP experience passes to a Patriots home game next season, four tickets to a game, and four pre-game field passes.
