Liam Neeson Is Too Serious To Play Cupid On ‘The Late Show’

Liam Neeson has a very particular set of skills, skills that will have you head over heels this Valentine’s Day.

The “Taken” star appeared in an amusing sketch on Friday’s episode of Global’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, auditioning for the role of Cupid.

Reading lines for the god of love, Neeson’s tone was more appropriate for threatening kidnappers than they were for romance. “No matter where you go, or where you hide, love will find you,” Neeson said grimly.

“‘Cupid draw back your bow, let your arrow go, straight to my lover’s heart,’” he quoted Sam Cooke’s “Cupid” song. “That’s a kill shot, pal. Penetrate the aorta, he’d bleed out in 10 seconds. He’s a trained methodical marksman with deadly aim, shooting arrows into random victims.”

Chances are, Neeson did not get the role.

You can catch “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on Global; you can also watch full episodes online.
