Joan Rivers To Talk Plastic Surgery And Love Of Fashion In Never-Before-Heard Interview

It’s been 3.5 years since Joan Rivers’ sudden death, but we haven’t heard the last from the legendary comedienne.

SiriusXM is set to air an as-yet-unreleased interview with the late Rivers, which was recorded just a month before she died in 2014.

Rivers’ 20-minute chat for the Entertainment Weekly radio show was hosted by the Emmy Award-winning actor Dan Bucatinsky and “Will & Grace” co-creator Max Mutchnick. The interview, which will air Thursday, covered a range of topics including plastic surgery to fashion talk with her mother.

“I knew my mother was so determined that something as mundane as dying wouldn’t shut her up,” Rivers’ daughter Melissa explained. “If she tells me to stand up straight and brush my hair, I’m going to scream.”

Actor Bucatinsky added to Entertainment Weekly: “Our whole approach [to the interview] was for it just to be a conversation where we just get to ask anything.”

“I don’t think that either of us imagined that we’d be on the phone for so long and that’d she’d be so warm, forthcoming, and genuine as she was,” he continued.

Rivers passed away at 81-years-old just a few weeks after doing the interview.

Bucatinsky continued, “I really hope that it just reminds people of this unbelievable, irrepressible spirit that she had and a generosity and thirst for work; she really was an artist. This is a great opportunity to recall her at her best.”
