New ‘Roseanne’ Teaser Hints At How Reboot Will Deal With Dan’s Death

With anticipation building for next month’s debut of the “Roseanne” revival, one question that many are wondering is how the upcoming reboot will handle the death of Dan Conner (John Goodman), who was revealed to have passed away during a sad coda in the series finale.

A new trailer for the 10-episode reboot, however, hints at the joking approach that will no doubt be taken to explain how Dan is alive and kicking when the show returns, more than 20 years after the final episode aired.

The new teaser (which can be seen here) features Goodman, star Roseanne Barr and the rest of the cast at a table read, where Barr exclaims, “Dan!”

“What?” Goodman responds, to which she answers: “I thought you were dead.”

During a chat with journalists at the Television Critics Association press tour in January, Goodman explained that he “didn’t really care” how writers brought his character back to life, but was happy with the way it ended up. “I thought it was a clever way to do it, handle it and get it out of the way.”
