An artist who specializes in creating monster-inspired sex toys has created a new one modelled after the creature in Oscar-nominated film “The Shape of Water”, although the film’s director admits he’s not particularly impressed.
As Nylon reports, an enterprising artist who sells sex toys online under the moniker XenoCatArtifacts has created the Jewel of the Amazon (you can see the NSFW pics right here), based on what the film’s Amphibian Man’s junk would theoretically look like.
Actor Doug Jones, who portrays Amphibian Man, told The Wrap he was disappointed. “With a light chuckle, I can tell you it’s not exactly what I’d hoped for,” says the actor, who also plays alien Commander Saru on “Star Trek: Discovery”.
“I don’t think it’s an accurate representation. It’s some form of fan art… I guess,” said “The Shape of Water” director Guillermo del Toro.
Added Jones: “After pouring my heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears into this romantic, beautiful, magical role, the last thing I want to be remembered for is a silicone appendage that comes in two sizes.”
