Actor Luke Wilson and golfer Bill Haas found themselves indirectly involved in a car crash that left one person dead Tuesday night.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the tragic crash occurred when a Ferrari clipped a Toyota — driven by Wilson — and then crashed into a BMW.
The 71-year-old driver of the Ferrari died at the scene, while Haas, who was in the passenger seat, was taken to hospital with injuries.
Some details about the crash emerged in the New York Post‘s “Page Six” column, which quotes an eyewitness who recalls Wilson being the “hero” in the accident.
Tattoo artist Sean Heirigs, who says he was directly behind the Ferrari and saw the entire accident as it happened, told the Post that Wilson “led the charge” in helping the victims.
Heirigs describes smoke everywhere, with Wilson becoming concerned about a woman who was trapped inside a vehicle he feared was about to catch on fire.
“Wilson figured out they could remove the woman through the back of her car and he and Heirigs removed her,” reports the Post, adding that the woman Wilson rescued is now in the hospital with serious injuries.
Wilson, however, reportedly did not sustain any serious injuries in the crash.
