It was recently reported that Ed Sheeran could be the one chosen to sing at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding. The pair were said to have been given a sneak preview of one of his tracks as they visited Edinburgh Tuesday.
Harry, 33, and Markle, 36, stopped by the Great Gallery in the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where they were treated to a surprise performance of “Perfect” from Impact Arts; a children’s singing group from Scotland.
Onlookers told People that the sing-a-long moved Markle so much that she looked like she could burst into tears at any moment.
“They just looked speechless. Meghan looked like she was going to cry,” Edinburgh College student Ciara MacDonald, 17, one of the singers, told the publication. “To see the smiles on their faces as we sung is something we’ll always treasure. Meghan said it was wonderful singing and that they really enjoyed it.”
The group even offered to fill in for Sheeran, 26, if he didn’t fancy taking to the stage at Windsor Castle on May 19.
“A little birdie told us that Ed Sheeran would be playing at an upcoming wedding,” Sol Grieve Rae, 17, shared. “But if that falls through our diary is free.”
The teenagers from Impact Arts were among 50 youngsters to be invited to meet Harry and Markle Tuesday. They are all involved in the Scottish Government’s Year of Young People 2018.
