Natalie Portman talked about the moment she mistakenly thought her water had broken as she appeared on Thursday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Portman, 36, who gave birth to her second child, daughter Amalia, just days before last year’s Oscars, revealed how she’d been going to get her son Aleph from school when she felt a trickle down her leg.
The actress explained how her water didn’t actually break with her first child, so she wasn’t 100% sure what to expect.
Portman shared: “My mom came at the end of my pregnancy to help and we went to pick up my son from school right after I did your show, like a day or two later. I go and pick him up and I start to feel a little water on my leg.
“I was like ‘Oh my god.’ There was more and more water and I was like, ‘Honey, we’ve got to go.'”
However, despite Portman calling her husband, her doctor, and her midwife to prepare everyone for the new arrival, it didn’t take long for her to realize things weren’t quite as urgent as she thought.
The star laughed, “I looked and his water bottle was leaking. I just told everyone I was having a baby and the water bottle’s leaking!”
