Kanye West has been laying low ever since a public onstage meltdown in late 2016 presaged a reported breakdown that resulted in the cancellation of his Saint Pablo tour and led him to be hospitalized for a week.
However, the 40-year-old rapper made a rare public appearance on Saturday, making an unscheduled cameo at Adidas’ 747 Warehouse St. show in Los Angeles, part of a two-day all-star event connected to the NBA All-Star Weekend.
Fans were shocked to see Yeezy take to the stage to introduce Kid Cudi, and then perform “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” (you can watch his two-minute cameo in the video above).
Attired casually, wearing a baggy sweatshirt and shorts, West made his first onstage appearance since November 2017, when he also joined Kid Cudi during a Chicago concert and performed the same song.
