Kellie Pickler got a bit of a fright from her boss Faith Hill… sort of.

The country singer and host of “Pickler & Ben” stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to talk about life as a talk show host and having Faith Hill as a boss.

“I didn’t realize how much you go to work,” Pickler admitted about her role as host. “I have a real day job now!”

As for working for “country music royalty” Faith Hill, Pickler said the experience is amazing.

“It’s so interesting, because growing up watching all her videos, and being a fan of her music and supporting her career, I never thought she would be my boss lady,” Pickler explained.

“But she’s so real and down-to-earth. She comes to the studio and she’s in jeans, and a T-shirt, and a ball cap and no makeup.”

During the discussion, a man dressed as the country superstar jumped out of the table next to Pickler, scaring the words right out of her.

Though Pickler did admit she took a shot before coming onstage to mentally prepare for the possibility Ellen would try to scare her.
