Talk about a super-collab! Australian singer Troye Sivan revealed one of his new songs will feature pop superstar Ariana Grande.
The “There For You” singer made the announcement on BBC Radio 1’s morning show with Nick Grimshaw on Friday, saying he’d written the track for his latest album.
“This was not a planned announcement; I just kind of feel like telling you,” said the 22-year-old.
Grande, who last released music in 2016, has been teasing new music on social media.
“We met maybe for the first time like two years ago or something like that and we just kept in touch. She’s really fun and funny to text,” said Sivan. “We were hanging out and I was playing her music and everything and we were just in the studio and I was like, ‘Would you ever sing on this one song?’ And she was like, ‘Please, this is going to be really fun.'”
“She just did it and it sounded exactly like I dreamt it would. My favourite thing is not telling people who it is, and then starting to play the song and as soon as she starts to sing, everyone’s like, ‘Are you serious?’ Her voice is nuts,” said the Aussie.
Fans of the two pop stars shared their excitement on Twitter.
Sivan’s yet-to-be-named second album is slated to be released later this year.
