Jennifer Lawrence Talks ‘One-Sided’ Friendship With Kim Kardashian, ‘Fifty Shades’ Fandom

Jennifer Lawrence may be friendly with Kim Kardashian, but she’s not sure they are actually friends.

The “Red Sparrow” star spoke at an event at The Wing, a co-working and community centre for women in New York, where she was asked about her seeming friendship with Kardashian, who she has hung out with and even interviewed her last year while hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”.

“I don’t know that she’d call me her friend,” Lawrence said. “It’s probably a one-sided friendship.”

The 27-year-old is still enamoured of the reality star and her family, though.

“When I found out that I was going to be interviewing her I was like, ‘Oh my God, my whole life has been building up to this moment,’” Lawrence said. “I wanted to get as much information as I could. I wanted to do my due diligence on Kim Kardashian. I went over to Kris [Jenner’s] house and had dinner with the whole family.”

“They are smart, grounded and normal and funny. They’re very nice people, [they’re] very close, [they have a] loyal bond with one another, which I think is a positive thing to put out into the world,” she added. “They’ve been absolutely lovely to me.”

Lawrence was also asked whether she would consider herself a cinephile, though at first she didn’t know what the word meant.

“I didn’t even know the word, so obviously… no, I’m constantly humiliated by not knowing classics,” Lawrence admitted. “I didn’t really grow up a movie fan.”

The actress said she grew up loving films like “Uncle Buck”.

“I like watched ‘The Waterboy’ every day for a year,” she added. “I know actors who are educated and obviously that’s a good thing to do, educate yourself on good films. I find really amazing, great, acclaimed films super boring so I usually lean towards latest releases, Pixar, ‘Fifty Shades’… I like what I like!”
