Ivanka Trump attended the closing ceremony at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, as a representative of her father’s administration, but not everyone in attendance was thrilled to see the daughter of President Donald Trump at the ceremony.
One such person is British-born U.S. skier Gus Kenworthy, who took to Twitter to share his pride in being part of this year’s games while wondering what exactly the First Daughter was even doing there.
“So proud of all these people!” posted the 26-year-old skier. “Everybody here has worked so hard to make it to the Olympics and have the opportunity to walk in the closing ceremony! Well… Everyone except Ivanka. Honestly, tf is she doing here??”
Kenworthy’s social media post received a number of replies from both ends of the political spectrum, with some Twitter users taking their own shots at the president’s 36-year-old daughter.
However, there were no shortage of Twitter users who slammed Kenworthy for his comments, with some pointing out they’re not representative of the spirit of the Winter Games.
