Jennifer Lawrence is opening up about the experience of shooting nude scenes for her dark, new, spy thriller “Red Sparrow”.
The 27-year-old was interviewed for the Australian morning show “Sunrise” on Monday and described what it was like to film a scene in which she had to stand naked in front of a class, calling it, “that nightmare that you have.”
Lawrence also talked about making the decision to star in the film, knowing that those kinds of scenes would be required.
“I had to really think about it before I even said yes to the movie,” she explained. “I couldn’t say yes … and then be like ‘Can we not use those scenes?’ The only way to do the movie is if I’m willing to push myself as far as my character is forced to go.”
“I actually left feeling empowered,” Lawrence said of filming the scenes. “I still feel empowered.”
The Oscar-winning actress also spoke about the #MeToo movement.
“We’re kinda in a watershed moment right now where we have to reshape the way the world looks at us and the way that we’re treated by the world,” she said. “We wanna be paid equally for the same amount of work, and that’s not just in Hollywood, that’s in all fields across the globe.”
