Funny Or Die is tackling #MeToo with some humour and an important message.
“Westworld” star Evan Rachel Wood is joined by “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” breakout star Kelly Marie Tran for a satirical Funny Or Die video lampooning the numerous Hollywood perpetrators who have been named in the #MeToo movement with their take on the classic elimination board game, “Guess Who”.
“The #MeToo movement has outed so many sexual predators, talking about it can be like a literal game of ‘Guess Who,'” the site prefaces the video narrated by Tatiana Maslany.
“Is your person a man?” Wood asks. “Of course!” Tran replies as the women browse through options featuring a cartoon caricature of everyone from Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby to Matt Lauer and Mario Batali over glasses of wine.
“Did your person prey on men?” Wood asks. “Not this time,” Tran responds as Wood eliminates Kevin Spacey from the mix.
Soon, Tony-nominated stage actress Da’Vine Joy Randolph arrives with a glass of wine in hand, asking to play the game.
“Of course. You don’t have a choice!” Tran tells her as she pulls out the 2017 expansion pack for “Guess Who: #MeToo.”
“Oh no, you guys. You’re playing the old version,” she tells Wood and Tran. “There’s so many cases of sexual harassment that they update a new deck every 10 hours.”
While the Funny Or Die video may generate a few laughs, the actresses stress the #MeToo movement and sexual assault is no laughing matter.
Ending on a serious note, the stars ask viewers to join nonprofit organization Rise to help pass civil rights for sexual assault survivors.
