Prince William is headed to the Holy Land.
It was announced Thursday that William will be making the first official visit by the British Royal Family to Israel and Palestine.
“His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge will visit Israel, Jordan, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories in the summer,” Kensington Palace said in a statement. “The visit is at the request of Her Majesty’s Government and has been welcomed by the Israeli, Jordanian and Palestinian authorities.”
Duchess Kate Middleton, who is due to give birth in April, is not scheduled to join her husband on the trip.
While no British royal has made an official visit to Israel, Prince Charles did attend the funeral of Israeli President Shimon Peres in 2016 as a private citizen.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “This is a historic visit, the first of its kind,” and added that William “will be received here with great affection.”
