Meryl Streep may already have her next gig lined up!
While the three-time Oscar winner (and 21-time nominee) left empty-handed at Sunday’s telecast, “The Post” star surely had at least one highlight from the evening: being hunted down by Tiffany Haddish.
Before jumping over a velvet rope to say hello on the red carpet, Haddish told reporters, “I’ma [sic] say ‘Will you be my mama in a movie? I want you to be in ‘Girls Trip 2’!”
During the ceremony, the comedienne continued her campaign, making a second pitch to the Hollywood legend while presenting the award for Documentary Short Subject.
“Hi Meryl,” she said to the actress, seated in the front row. “I want you to be my mama one day. Let’s get this money, girl!”
It’s not the first time she’s shared her dream casting, either: Haddish first told Vanity Fair in July she’d love to bring Streep along for a potential “Girls Trip” sequel.
“Everybody will be like, ‘How you got a white mama?’ And I’ll be like, ‘I told y’all I was in the system. I was in foster care, stupid!'”
