Ewan McGregor gets reacquainted with his old friend Winnie The Pooh in the first trailer for Disney’s live-action “Christopher Robin”.
McGregor plays a now-adult Christopher Robin with some very grown-up problems when he meets a familiar friend. The iconic yellow bear in the red shirt comes out of the Hundred Acre Wood and back into Christopher’s life to help him rediscover the little joys of living that come through a bit of positivity and the help of some friends.
Not to be confused with that other Winnie The Pooh movie, “Goodbye Christopher Robin”, which detailed the beloved bear’s origin story, Disney’s “Christopher Robin” is an original whimsical fantasy set in post-World War II London, co-starring Hayley Atwell as Christopher’s wife.
The teaser only gives a glimpse at McGregor and Pooh, but the pair will be joined by many more familiar faces from Christopher Robin’s childhood.
The movie will also see the return of Tigger, voiced by Chris O’Dowd, Brad Garrett as Eeyore, Toby Jones as the voice of wise Owl, Piglet voiced by Nick Mohammed, former “Doctor Who” star Peter Capaldi as Rabbit and Sophie Okonedo as the voice of the motherly Kanga.
“Christopher Robin” opens in theatres on Aug. 3.
