Demi Lovato is opening up in a new cover story for InStyle, discussing everything from why she’s enjoying being single right now to her openness to dating someone of the same sex.
After being in a relationship with former “That ’70s Show” star Wilmer Valderrama for nearly six years, Lovato says she’s perfectly content to fly solo at the moment. “I’m not suffering because I’m alone,” the 25-year-old singer tells the magazine in its latest issue. “There were many years I was in a relationship and I wasn’t learning about myself. Now I’m learning about what I like, what I need, and what I want.”

When it comes to dating, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer says she keeps an open mind and could easily see herself in a relationship with a woman.
“I’m very fluid, and I think love is love,” she explains. “You can find it in any gender. I like the freedom of being able to flirt with whoever I want.”

Man or woman, Lovato says she has some very specific requirements when it comes to who she’ll date, revealing she seeks someone who will “treat me like a queen,” adding that she also likes to be in the driver’s seat.
