There hasn’t been much cause for celebration for the family at the centre of 19 Kids and Counting following the show’s cancellation due to Josh Duggar’s molestation revelations, along with his recently revealed infidelity and porn addiction.
But this weekend brought some much-needed joy into the lives of the Duggar family when cousin Amy Duggar married Dillon King, her fiancé of less than two months.
“This is such a positive moment in our lives,”; Amy tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview.
The wedding, described by PEOPLE as “country-chic,”; took place on the grounds of Horton Farms near Bentonville, Arkansas.
Prior to the nuptials, Amy told PEOPLE she was expecting a turnout of “about 400 people. These are only our closest friends and family and their families.”;
Among the throngs of guests were 19 Kids patriarch Jim Bob Duggar and wife Michelle, as well as their daughter-in-law Anna, whose husband Josh is currently embroiled in scandal.
“She’s been through so much,”; says Amy of Anna, revealed she enlisted Anna and Josh’s 5-year-old daughter Mackynzie to be one of her flower girls.
Earlier in the week, Amy told PEOPLE that as much as she loves her family, she’s looking forward to no longer carrying the Duggar name. “I can’t wait to change my name”;, she told PEOPLE. “It’s going to be a great day when Dillon signs that marriage license and my last name changes.”;
