Samantha Bee Compares NRA To Scientology, Calls Them ‘Cults’

Samantha Bee would rather see more Scientologists running around than NRA members.

The “Full Frontal” host took aim at the NRA during the latest episode of her show, comparing and contrasting the two entities.

“Both of these cults are based on fanciful myths that when repeated enough, their otherwise intelligent followers start to believe,” Bee argued.

“One says that 75 million years ago, an intergalactic warlord nuked billions of people in volcanoes,” she continued. “And then there’s the really crazy myth that guns have nothing to do with gun violence.”

Bee, 48, said the two bodies are pushing irrational agendas. “Both of these messianic cults push the narrative that only they can save the world,” she explained.

“But if you join them, you can share in their power – they’ll make you a superhero,” said Bee. “Whether that means healing the sick with your mind or making a kill shot on a mass murder despite being unable to even hit the toilet bowl when you’re taking a leak.”

And if there are any NRA members “hate-watching” her show, Bee had an idea.

“We’re calling on you to break free from the NRA – and join Scientology instead,” she said. “Scientology can fill all the holes in your soul… it will bless you with fear, power fantasies, a creepily ageless leader and merch.”

Concluding, “Is Scientology safe? Of course not. It’s bonkers. But it’s safer for the rest of us.”
