After a brief six-month romance, it appears to be all over between Emma Watson and Chord Overstreet, with U.K. newspaper The Sun quoting a source who claims the pair are through.
“Emma and Chord kept quiet about their relationship at first but they really hit it off,” the source told The Sun, “but things just haven’t worked out between them and they are both now single again.”
The Sun also points out further evidence of a breakup: the pair have unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Rumours began swirling that Watson and the former “Glee” star were an item after the Daily Mail published exclusive photos of the pair earlier this year, holding hands and smiling happily while taking a walk.
Overstreet, 29, and the 27-year-old “Beauty and the Beast” star were also spotted leaving the Vanity Fair post-Oscars party together.
The two were photographed together at a concert in March, with a “Hollywood insider” telling the New York Post‘s “Page Six” column that the two were a couple.
“It’s crazy but, yes, they are seeing each other, although Emma wants to keep things quiet and private,” said the insider, although another source told the newspaper, “They are friendly, but are not in a relationship.”
Watson had been single since December, when she broke up with Silicon Valley tech company manager William “Mack” Knight after dating for almost two years.
In any case, it’s unlikely the famously private actress will address the split; in a 2017 interview with Vanity Fair, the former “Harry Potter” star discussed her aversion to discussing her personal life in order to maintain some semblance of privacy.
“I want to be consistent,” she explained. “I can’t talk about my boyfriend in an interview and then expect people not to take paparazzi pictures of me walking around outside my home. You can’t have it both ways.”
