John Oliver Breaks Down Bitcoin With The Help Of Keegan-Michael Key

Cryptocurrency is all the rage these days, but few people actually understand what it is. Thankfully, John Oliver is here to explain it all, and he brought along Keegan-Michael Key to help him out.

On Sunday’s “Last Week Tonight” the host broke down the mysteries behind Bitcoin and similar technologies, referring to the subject as “everything you don’t understand about money…with everything you don’t understand about computers.” (Watch the full clip here.)

After going through a careful explanation of cryptocurrency and the potential pitfalls of the emerging market, and poking fun at people like “Dan” from the “Last Week Tonight” office who “won’t shut up” about Bitcoin, Oliver ended with an important message.

“The point is, if you choose to invest in the cryptocurrency space, just know that you are not investing: you’re gambling, which is fine but you should know what you’re doing.”

In case that message wasn’t coming through clearly enough, though, Oliver enlisted Key to shout it out loud while imitating a speaker at a Bitcoin conference.
