Prince Harry has never officially declared whether or not he’s a fan of One Direction, but given a recent blink-and-you’d-miss-it side-eye he gave to fiancee Meghan Markle following a Liam Payne performance, it’s probably safe to go out on a limb and assume that he’s not.
Harry and his bride-to-be were filmed while taking in Payne’s plaintive performance of John Mayer’s “Waiting for the World to Change” during a Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on Monday.
Following Payne’s performance, Harry can clearly be seen glancing at Markle and giving her a momentary raise of both eyebrows, the internationally recognized facial cue for “what the heck was that?”
Harry’s brief gesture elicits giggles from his fiancee, who lowers her head in an apparent attempt to stifle her laughter (quick guess: she’s not a fan either). Watch:
Prior to his performance, reports the Express, Payne explained his song choice. “I think it’s quite apparent for the way that the world is at the moment and I’m also a big fan of John Mayer,” he said. “I think this is the perfect occasion for it.”
