Tell us how you really feel, Katy Perry!
There was no mistaking the attraction that the “American Idol” judge felt for contestant Trevor Holmes, and she appeared smitten by the handsome singer when he auditioned for Perry and fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie during Monday’s episode of the revived singing competition.
When Holmes, 27, revealed his day job as a construction worker — in order to support his ailing mother — while he pursued his music dreams, that really made Perry roar (even Bryan described him as a “dreamboat”).
“You’re so hot,” Perry, 33, told the singer. “Here’s the thing. First of all, only hot guys are typically named Trevor. That’s one of the names. Trevor, he’s hot, he does construction on the side, and he loves his mom.”
Things took an awkward turn, however, when Holmes responded to one of Perry’s questions by calling her “ma’am.”
“Don’t call me ma’am!” exclaimed Perry, to which Holmes explained, “I’m sorry, I respect you so much.”
“Don’t respect me!” Perry insisted with mock (or possibly real) indignation, which led Bryan to chime in. “She don’t want you bein’ nice, boy!” he barked.
And then things got really crazy. Watch:
