Gabrielle Union took to Twitter Monday to take a swipe at a Miami TV station after they referred to her as “Dwyane Wade’s wife” in a tweet about the pair donating $200,000 to March For Our Lives.
The “Being Mary Jane” star, 45, who was well-known before she married Wade, 36, in 2014, was inundated with praise from fans after she called out the publication online, with her sharing a link to the tweet and adding: “I have a name.”
Wade also took to Twitter to poke fun at the whole thing, writing: “It’s Gabrielle Union-Wade to be exact.”
The article WSVN had tweeted was about Union and her NBA husband donating the huge amount to the upcoming gun control rally, which has been organized by the survivors of the February 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
WSVN have since taken to Twitter to apologize for the mishap, with the station replying to numerous social media users to insist they’d be having a word with their writer.
The posts come after Wade took to the social media site over the weekend to urge his “NBA fam” to join forces with him and his wife and raise money for the incredible cause. The pair insisted they would be “standing by the students” when the event takes place in Washington D.C. on March 24.
