Police Search Gene Simmons’ Home, Reportedly for Child Pornography

UPDATE: 10/09/15 – Sophie Tweed-Simmons spoke out about the incident where her family home was searched by police for child pornography.

“Yeah, I mean it’s really scary when someone can tap into your home like that,”; she says at ET Canada’s Festival Central 2015 Lounge during TIFF, “and kind of almost implant themselves into your life. Because, obviously my family had no idea.”;

Police searched the home of KISS frontman Gene Simmons for a possible internet crime.

The LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force searched Simmons home in the Benedict Canyon area on Thursday at 8 a.m, Sgt. Mike Lopez told ET.

“The Simmons family was extremely cooperative and no members of the Simmons family are suspected in the case,”; Sgt. Lopez said.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force helps “state and local agencies to develop effective, sustainable responses to online child victimization and child pornography,”; according to their website.

TMZ reports that police were looking for evidence of child pornography.

“Members of the Los Angeles Police Department visited Mr. And Mrs. Simmons at their home to discuss a crime that may have occurred on their property last year while Mr. Simmons was away on tour with KISS,”; Simmons’ rep said in a statement released to ET. “At this time, the police have requested that Mr. Simmons and his family not discuss the investigation publicly so as not to compromise it.”;

Simmons took to Twitter on Thursday evening to comment on the situation.
