Kim Kardashian has been open about her pregnancy struggles over the years; now she is revealing the reason she’s only planning to have one more baby.
Kardashian, 37, and her husband Kanye West, 40, welcomed their third baby Chicago via a gestational carrier on January 15, and the reality TV favourite spoke to ELLE in its April issue about what it was really like to watch someone else carrying her child.
The star’s journey was well-documented on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and despite finding the whole thing difficult, she has nothing but praise for her surrogate, who wanted to keep her anonymity throughout the pregnancy.
Insisting she’ll only have one more baby, Kardashian explains: “I don’t think I could handle more than that. My time is spread really thin. And I think it’s important that in all couples, the mom gives the husband as much attention as the kids.”
Kardashian, who is also mother to daughter North, 4, and son Saint, 2, suffered from placenta accreta during her first two pregnancies and says that although she “hated being pregnant,” she still wishes she could have given birth herself.
She tells the mag, “The control is hard at the beginning. Once you let that go, it’s the best experience. I would recommend surrogacy for anybody.”
Kardashian added of her own traumatic experience: “After giving birth, your placenta is supposed to come out. But mine was stuck. That’s what women usually die from in childbirth—you hemorrhage and bleed to death and they can’t stop it. To get it out—it’s so disgusting—the doctor had to stick his whole arm in me and scrape it off. It was the most painful.”
She went on to say of her mom Kris Jenner, “To this day, if you mention it to her, she’ll cry. It was traumatic.”
Kardashian’s candid chat also saw her open up about her and Kanye West being a “good balance” together, as well as admitting she now cares less about what people think of her.
