Back in the 1970s, David Cassidy was a wildly popular teen idol who packed stadiums, sold 30 million albums and starred in hit TV series The Partridge Family.
Those days are long behind him, however, with a nasty divorce forcing the “I Think I Love You”; singer to declare bankruptcy and sell his Florida mansion at auction.
Cassidy appeared on U.K. chat show This Morning to discuss his situation, but became agitated and testy with the affable hosts, at one point even arguing with them via satellite from his soon-to-be-former Florida home.
As Cassidy explained, his bankruptcy filing was due to “advice from my attorneys,”; but the conversation quickly took an ugly turn when host Eamonn Holmes asked how Cassidy was dealing with the situation.
“I don’t know what you’re saying,”; Cassidy shot back.
Later, Cassidy discussed his divorce, slurring his words as he did. “It’s a difficult journey when you’re going through a divorce, is it not for anyone?”; When the hosts attempted a follow-up question, Cassidy became agitated: “Wait, wait, wait, don’t interrupt me,”; he exclaimed in the increasingly awkward uncomfortable interview, with the star apparently struggling to hear and comprehend the questions, complaining he was hearing “echoes”; in his earpiece.
Finally, Cassidy appears to lose it. “I’m sorry, I don’t know why you’re asking me about my debts,”; he says. “I’m not going to discuss. Are you here to rubbish me?”; Watch:
