Nicolas Cage has always wanted to play Superman in a movie, and finally he’s getting the chance.
According to USA Today, the “Leaving Las Vegas” star is lending his voice to the Man of Steel in the upcoming animated film “Teen Titans Go! to the Movies”, based on the popular children’s series.
Cage joins a voice cast that includes Halsey as Wonder Woman and Lil Yachty as Green Lantern.
Longtime fans of the 54-year-old actor will know this isn’t the first time Cage has been set to play Superman.
In 1998, Cage was getting ready to shoot Tim Burton’s unique take on the character in a film called “Superman Lives” before the film was ultimately scrapped.
The star’s connection to Superman doesn’t end there, though. Cage once owned a rare copy of the superhero’s debut comic book issue, and he even named his son Kal-El after Superman’s Kryptonian name.
“Teen Titans Go! to the Movies” will be in theatres July 27.
In the meantime, fans on Twitter are celebrating the fact that Cage is getting to play his most beloved character at last.
