Katy Perry, Mark Hamill, Debra Messing, More Celebs Supporting National School Walkout

On Wednesday, March 14, thousands of students are walking out of their schools one month after a gunman claimed 17 lives in a school shooting in Parkland, FL.

Across the U.S., students of all ages and grades have moved out of their classrooms, staging a 17-minute vow of silence in memory of the victims of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and to take a stand against gun violence one month after the February 14 shooting. Beginning at 10 a.m. local time, the protests are set to roll out across the country.

Celebrities, including “Will & Grace” star Debra Messing, late night host James Corden, Katy Perry, Susan Sarandon, Emmy Rossum, “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Pearl Jam, and cast members of “Law & Order: SVU”, “Grown-ish” and “Orange Is The New Black”, have tweeted their support of the walkout and the students’ rallying cry to push for Congress to take action on stricter gun control laws in the country.
