John Oliver released his own version of Vice President Mike Pence’s children’s book “Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President” this week and the host spoke out about it already outselling the original as he appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Tuesday.

Oliver, 40, made it clear he wasn’t a huge fan of Pence, 58, and his extreme views as he chatted to DeGeneres about his parody release “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo”, which tells the tale of the U.S. politician’s pet rabbit falling in love and getting married to another male rabbit.

However, he insisted he has absolutely nothing against Pence’s beloved bunny.

Oliver explained: “Mike Pence is a man who I think has few qualities to his name. But, one thing I love about him is his rabbit, he has a fantastic rabbit. I have no beef with his rabbit whatsoever. His rabbit is called Marlon Bundo, which is an outstanding name for a bunny.”

As DeGeneres proceeded to show a pic of the pet on the screen behind them, Oliver, who also claimed Pence is “clearly not a fan of the LGBTQ Community,” insisted, “If you have a problem with that bunny you’re dead inside!”

The “Last Week Tonight” host then said part of the reason he’s written the parody is because he wants something nice to read to his two-year-old son. He explained of his own version of the book, “That’s the world we want to live in!”

Oliver’s appearance also saw the British star open up about life in the White House “being a soap opera all the time.” He admitted it’s hard to focus on the terrible things happening in the world because “life is a roller coaster of pain at the moment.”
