Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are playing coy about their relationship off the ice.

During an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday, the Canadian ice dancers and three-time Olympic gold medallists, who put on a fiery display at the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games, reveal if they are indeed dating.

“We are not,” Virtue admits to DeGeneres, adding that the pair, however, do consider it a “compliment” that their fans want them to be together.

“We love telling a story and a lot of the emotions we portray are universal themes that resonate with everyone,” Virtue says. “So the fact that people feel invested in our partnership is truly remarkable.”

After figure skating for the past 20 years together, Moir admits that the pair did technically “date” when they were around the ages of 7 and 9. “I remember when we were skating, we would just hold hands and avoid eye contact,” he recalls.

Moir jokingly adds, “In order to advance our partnership, we had to put the hot and heavy relationship on the side.”

Despite DeGeneres remaining unconvinced, Virtue asserts, “If we were [dating], we would announce it here. This would be the place.”

Meanwhile, Virtue reveals if the ice dancing duo would consider returning to the next Olympic Winter Games. “I think it’s probably a good time to end,” she says.
