Jenna Fischer and Oliver Hudson have incredible chemistry on-screen, despite having completely different backgrounds.
The “Splitting Up Together” stars appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday and the host had to ask them about their wildly different upbringings.
“I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. My mom’s a schoolteacher, my dad’s an engineer,” Fischer said.
“Yes, and I grew up in Hollywood, with famous parents,” said Hudson, who is the son of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson. “But I think they’ve been to St. Louis.”
Hudson explained that Fischer is so similar to his real-life wife and she responded that he was actually a lot like her husband.
“I feel like I don’t have to do a lot to get into character,” the actress said, “because I just leave my real husband and then I come to you and you’re kind of the same guy.”
DeGeneres also asked Hudson about something he did recently “to show your wife how much you love her.”
“I got a Brazilian wax,” he said. “I wanted to know what it was like and participate in what she goes through.”
Asked how he found the experience, Hudson said, “It hurt. It hurt very, very bad.”
