Kevin Smith is throwing out the idea of a well-balanced breakfast, lunch and dinner, on doctor’s orders.
The director is recovering from a massive heart attack he suffered less than a month ago. And Smith, 47, has revealed what sort of effect a diet of strictly potatoes has had on his weight.

In the first episode of his “Hollywood Babble-On” podcast since landing in the emergency room, Smith revealed his new eating habits after being told by medical professionals he had to lose 50 pounds.
“It’s a pretty intense program, but it’s been interesting,” said the entertainer, who has thus far lost 20 pounds. “And of course necessary for my health and stuff. But once I get to a decent place, then I can think about eating again.”
“I’ll never eat the way I used to,” Smith continued. “The way I used to eat wasn’t f**king horrible. It was in my childhood that’s what my doctor said.”
Fortunately, Smith has a lot of support at home. After all, his daughter Harley Quinn is a vegan! “My kid is thrilled because she’s a vegan, ‘She’s like, ‘Welcome home brother,'” revealed Smith who is no longer eating “animal-related products.”
