After pictures of Ben Affleck’s giant, colourful back tattoo sparked an online frenzy over the weekend, Matt Damon is weighing in on his buddy’s ink.
“It’s not one man’s job to tell another man what he can do to his back,” Damon joked to Trevor Noah during an appearance on “The Daily Show” this week.
The tattoo, which Affleck previously claimed was a fake in 2015, features a rainbow phoenix rising from the flames. The actor showed off his very real and very spectacular back tat while on location in Hawaii with Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund as they trained for their new movie “Triple Frontier”.
After Affleck made waves in Hawaii, Noah asked the “Downsizing” actor what he thinks of his friend’s tattoo.
“I support him in all of his artistic expression,” Damon laughs, joking that he just can’t seem to get rid of his childhood friend.
“Unfortunately I can’t seem to shake him,” he says. “I’ve known him since I was 10, so it’s 37 years.”
