Anna Faris isn’t so sure about marriage anymore.
The twice-divorced star, who split from Chris Pratt last year after eight years of marriage, says she doesn’t know if she’d be willing to walk down the aisle again.
“I need to figure out what the purpose is,” she says of marriage on Dax Shepard’s podcast “Armchair Expert.” “Is it safety for your children? Is it convention? Is it so other people respect your relationship more? For me, I’m just not quite sure where it fits,” she adds.
Faris, 41, and Pratt, 38, have a 5-year-old son, Jack. Prior to her marriage to Pratt, Faris was married to Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008.

The “Mom” star and “Jurassic World” actor announced their separation in August of last year and the online disappointment from fans was something Faris had trouble dealing with.
“Chris and I did talk about [it],” she says of the online reaction. “We got, like on the Twitter feed, ‘Love is dead.'”
The actress says the couple’s own social media posts led to a certain expectation of their relationship from fans.
“We obviously cultivated something and it was rewarding for a while,” she reveals to Shepard. “It was like ‘People seem to think we got all this s*** right.'”

While she admits she had a “childish” and angry response to the fan reaction at first, Faris says it’s “not fair” for her to be mad at the online outcry and accepts responsibility for the public image the couple put forward.
“We intentionally cultivated this idea of like, ‘Look at this beautiful family.’ There were so many moments that were like that but like anything on social media, you don’t post [the bad stuff],” she says.
Over six months after publicly announcing their separation, Faris says she and Pratt are in a good place now.
“We had an unbelievable marriage and we have a great friendship now, we love our son to death,” she says. “I’m really proud of that.”
