One of the more interesting tidbits to emerge from Stormy Daniels’ interview with Anderson Cooper on “60 Minutes” was her revelation that once she jokingly gave Donald Trump a spanking with a rolled-up magazine, his behaviour “became more appropriate.”
This did not go unnoticed by Stephen Colbert, and during Monday night’s “Late Show”, he offered his take on presidential spanking during his monologue.
“It’s an insane salacious tale about a sitting president and the least surprising story I have ever heard” about Trump, Colbert said of the interview, adding: “That felt truer than him getting elected president.”
Discussing the spanking, Colbert offered a suggestion to the president’s beleaguered Chief of Staff: “Hmmm – a couple of spanks and Trump started acting more appropriate. John Kelly, you know what to do.”
Colbert also insisted, “That’s gotta sting!” when discussing the fact the “60 Minutes” chat had managed to pull in more viewers than Trump did when he appeared on the CBS program following the 2016 election.
During Monday’s show, Colbert then created his very own “interview” with Daniels. See more below:
